The Somerset Valley YMCA takes the holistic approach to health and wellness encompassing the spirit, mind and body connection with emphasis on prevention.

Rather than focusing on only the external body, our health & wellness programs convey information about nutrition and the internal road to a healthy lifestyle.  Our programs will utilize both physical and spiritual skills to help you set and reach your exercise goals and adhere to them for lifelong benefits. 

Program benefits:

Aerobic classes:  strengthens the heart, improves the circulatory system, enhances lung capacity, mind/body connection
Muscle classes:  increases muscular strength/endurance, helps prevent bone loss, strengthens connective tissue, increases muscular balance, mind/body connection
Yoga classes:  increases flexibility, lengthens/strengthens muscles, mind/body connection, enhances balance
Pilates classes:  strengthens core, aids in muscular balance, mind/body connection

Ali’s Abs
Join Ali for a total abdominal/lower back toning adventure.

Basic Step
Simple choreography, but high in fun!  Great for all levels.

Boot Camp/Abs
A total body workout using kickboxing moves, cardio drills, strength drills, and finishing with killer ab work.  It may be low impact, but high in intensity!

Cardio Step/Abs
Utilizing a step platform, our energetic instructor will lead you through step moves designed to challenge your body.  The class will include an ab workout.

Muscle Works
Work all muscle groups using resistive equipment to strengthen and tone your body.

Sunrise Yoga
What better way to begin your day than lengthening and strengthening your muscles while being led through various Yoga poses!

Yoga
Develop better balance, strength and flexibility while experiencing the pure joy of movement.  The instructor will lead you through a series of flowing poses designed to nourish both the body and the soul.
